This version does not fetch Instagram, Facebook or YouTube links. Start with a local file that you own or have permission to process.
Start with a local video that contains sound
Upload MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV up to 100 MB and 10 minutes. For a social video you created, use the original recording or your own authorized exported file. A platform URL alone will not work. Long recordings must be split into shorter files before uploading.
Select the spoken language and generate a draft
Choose the language of the recording or automatic detection. Whisper runs on the website server and estimates the words and timestamps. This is speech transcription in the original language. Selecting English does not translate a non-English recording into English.
Review names, numbers and missing phrases
Listen while reading the transcript. A fluent sentence can still contain an error or omit a quiet phrase. Correct words, punctuation and line times, then save. Background music and overlapping speakers can reduce recognition quality. The transcript does not label speakers.
Download text or timed subtitles
TXT is suitable for copying words into notes or another document. JSON keeps structured line data. SRT keeps numbered subtitle cues and times for a video editor or player. Review-generated text is editable here, but existing SRT uploads are not supported. Private results expire after 14 days.
Use OCR for words shown in the picture
Speech transcription cannot read a title, slide or burned-in subtitle from a video frame. Save a clear frame yourself and upload it as JPG, PNG or WebP in Image to text. Images are limited to 5 MB and 20 megapixels, with TXT or JSON output. There is no automatic video-frame OCR scan in this version.
Common questions
Can I get an Instagram Reel transcript from a link?
No. This service accepts local media files, not platform URLs. Upload your own original recording or an exported file you are allowed to process, within the size and duration limits.
Does video-to-text also translate the recording?
No. It transcribes the spoken language and provides editable text and timing. Translation is a separate task.
