1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:04,340
Salve settled upon Blucher's countenance, like a cloud, and he rose up and said,

2
00:00:05,120 --> 00:00:11,560
"'Landlord, this is a low mean swindle, and I'll never, never stand it. Here's

3
00:00:11,560 --> 00:00:16,360
a hundred and fifty dollars, sir, and it's all you'll get. I'll swim in blood

4
00:00:16,360 --> 00:00:22,160
before I'll pay a cent more.' Our spirits rose, and the landlords fell—at

5
00:00:22,160 --> 00:00:26,600
least we thought so. He was confused at any rate, notwithstanding he had

6
00:00:26,600 --> 00:00:31,260
not understood a word that had been said. He glanced from the little pile of gold pieces

7
00:00:31,260 --> 00:00:36,780
to Bluker's several times, and then went out. He must have visited an American for when

8
00:00:36,780 --> 00:00:41,940
he returned, he brought back his bill translated into a language that a Christian could understand.

9
00:00:42,520 --> 00:00:49,020
Thus. Ten dinners, six thousand rays, or six dollars. Twenty -five cigars, twenty -five

10
00:00:49,020 --> 00:00:54,700
hundred rays, two dollars and fifty cents, eleven bottles of wine, thirteen thousand two

11
00:00:54,700 --> 00:01:00,180
hundred rays, or thirteen dollars and twenty cents, total twenty -one thousand seven hundred

12
00:01:00,180 --> 00:01:03,700
rays, or twenty -one dollars and seventy cents.
